Carlisle sex offender caught trying to ensnare girl 13,online – 3 year community order given
A 58-year-old man from Carlisle has to register as a sex offender for five years after trying to incite a 13-year-old girl into sexual activity online.
David Harrison, of Gillford Crescent, Harraby, was given a three year community order when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today. He had admitted attempting to incite a girl under 16 to engage in a sexual activity after being caught by the police’s child abuse internet investigation unit.
DCI Rob O’Connor said his arrest was the result of a proactive operation and Harrison had “engaged in sexualised conversations for his own gratification.”
“By highlighting this case, it shows others that we are watching them, and we will target them with a view to putting them in front of the courts,” he said.
